Collaboration with a great singer from India:
Sukanya Chattopadhyay

In 2021 during the pandemic, two musical artists started a virtual collaboration.

Sukanya, an Indian singer and artist based in Calcutta and Arash KHALATBARI, a French-Iranian electronic artist and musician based in Reunion Island.

Through screens and the internet they exchanged music and composed two tracks. They discovered common passions on several themes: the repertoire of traditional music and modern electronic and experimental music. Their project is to meet and write together a musical and artistic work around the two poets Rabindranath Tagore and Djalâl ad-Dîn Rûmî.

The freedom of spirit that these two poets have developed represents a remarkable creative potential.

Sukanya and Arash wish to compose a work related to these ageless poems combined with the vocabulary of urban and avant-garde music. This work will be both musical and visual.

A creative residency is planned in 2023 (Auroville, Chennai, Calcutta, Réunion Island). This workshop will be the occasion to compose an album and create a musical and visual show.
